Osmo Polyx Oil Clear Matt

The original Osmo Polyx Oil is probably one of the best products on the market to treat your solid oak internal doors with. This product range is one of our preferred solutions for finishing Internal Solid Oak Doors, however. It is a mix of oil and wax, meaning that it will soak into the wood surface (as an oil) but also provide a hard-wearing wax layer.

It is incredibly easy to apply, just simply brush or spray it into the solid oak internal doors, leave for an hour or 2 to dry out and then hang the door. It provides incredibly hard-wearing, micro-porous (breathable) and water repellent surface treatment. Each litre tin will cover approx. 8 square metres with two coats and, depending on usage, will look great for several years, after which it can simply be re-applied.

Resistant against wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water according to DIN 68861-1C (German Industrial Norm). Ingredients include solvents (de-aromatised white spirit, benzene-free and complying with the purity demands of the European Pharmacopoeia). Safe for children's toys and resistant to saliva and perspiration according to European Norm EN71 and DIN 53 160.

Application: Apply with a brush or roller

The Osmo wax is ready to use - you don't need to thin it, simply stir it well.

Apply the 1st coat thinly, thoroughly and evenly along the wood grain, removing any surplus immediately. Allow this coat to dry for at least 8-10 hours, ensuring good ventilation.

Apply the 2nd coat as you did the first - this coat will flow much easier than the first. Again, allow 8-10 hours for drying and ventilate well.

When the door is thoroughly dry, you may buff or polish by hand or with a machine.

Clean your brushes or rollers using white spirit or benzene-free brush cleaner.
